About the Elf Bar AF5500 (AF5000 Replacement)

The Elf Bar AF5500 is Elf Bar’s answer to the UK disposable vape ban that kicked in during June 2025. When single-use disposables like the Elf Bar AF5000 got pulled from shelves, Elf Bar built this rechargeable alternative to give vapers the same experience in a legal format. The Elf Bar AF5500 delivers the same authentic Elf Bar flavours as the AF5000, same satisfying throat hit, same simplicity – just with a rechargeable 1000mAh battery and replaceable pods that meet UK regulations. If you’re looking for the Elf Bar AF5000, this is the updated version you need. The AF5500 improves on the AF5000 with better battery life (1000mAh vs 650mAh), more puffs (5500 vs 5000), and replaceable refills pods instead of being single-use.Each Elf Bar AF5500 kit delivers around 5500 puffs before you change the refill pod. The device keeps going indefinitely – just charge the battery via USB-C and swap Elf Bar AF5500 pods when they run empty. Better value than buying disposables repeatedly, and better for the environment since you’re not binning batteries every few days. The Elf Bar AF5500 uses QUAQ mesh coil technology – the same advanced coils that were in the AF5000 and Elf Bar’s premium refillable kits. Mesh heats e-liquid more evenly than standard wire coils, giving you richer flavour and consistent vapour throughout the full 5500 puff lifespan. The 1.2ohm coil works perfectly with 20mg nic salt, delivering that satisfying throat hit without harshness.

1000mAh Battery and Type-C Charging

The Elf Bar AF5500 features a 1000mAh battery that handles a full day for most users. Heavy vapers get 8-12 hours between charges, while light to moderate vapers often push past 24 hours. That’s a massive upgrade from the Elf Bar AF5000’s 650mAh battery, which struggled to last a full day for regular users.USB-C charging takes roughly an hour from flat to full. The LED indicator shows your battery status – lights up brightly when you’ve got plenty of charge, dims as battery runs low. Cable’s not included, but any USB-C cable works (same type used for modern Android phones). You keep the same device and battery long-term. Just swap Elf Bar AF5500 pods when empty and recharge when needed. Lower running costs, less waste, better value than buying disposables week after week.

Prefilled Pod System with Auto-Refill

The Elf Bar AF5500 uses a 2ml prefilled pod with a 10ml refill container that automatically tops up your pod as you vape. No manual refilling, no mess. The container sits in the bottom of the device and feeds e-liquid into the pod through capillary action as you vape – same auto-refill concept as the AF5000 but with replaceable pods. You’ll see small bubbles rising in the container as e-liquid transfers. The system keeps your pod filled without any input from you. Insert the pod and container during setup, then forget about it until both run empty around 5500 puffs later. The split design keeps you TPD compliant – 2ml pod meets UK legal limits while the 10ml container gives you extended capacity legally. Total 12ml e-liquid per Elf Bar AF5500 refill pack without breaking any rules. The 1.2ohm mesh coil is built into each pod, giving you bold flavour and consistent MTL draws throughout. When the pod and refill container run empty, swap in fresh Elf Bar AF5500 refill pods. Each refill pack includes a new 2ml pod (with built-in coil) and new 10ml container, both prefilled with your chosen flavour. No separate coil changes, no manual refilling, no mess.

MTL Vaping with 20mg Nic Salt

MTL Vaping with 20mg Nic Salt

Every Elf Bar AF5500 pod comes prefilled with 20mg nic salt e-liquid for fast nicotine absorption and smooth throat feel – the same 20mg strength as the Elf Bar AF5000. MTL (mouth-to-lung) vaping mimics smoking a cigarette – you draw vapour into your mouth first, then inhale to your lungs. The tight draw and lower vapour production feel natural for anyone switching from smoking or moving away from disposables.Nic salts absorb faster than freebase nicotine, satisfying cravings quicker with less harshness. 20mg hits the sweet spot for most ex-smokers and disposable users – strong enough to satisfy cravings but not harsh on the throat. Paired with mesh coil tech, you get authentic Elf Bar flavour in every puff.10 Elf Bar flavours to choose from – fruity options, icy blends, and sweet profiles that deliver the same taste as the original Elf Bar AF5000 disposables. Whether you want classic fruit flavours, refreshing menthol, or fizzy soda-inspired options, the Elf Bar AF5500 range covers the favourites that made the AF5000 popular.[FLAVOURS_SECTION]

Simple Setup and How to Use

Setting up the Elf Bar AF5500 takes about a minute – similar process to the AF5000 but with the added benefit of being rechargeable:

1. Remove the device and 10ml refill bottle from packaging
2. Take the lid off the refill bottle (leave the rubber stopper underneath)
3. Pull the silicone bung out of the device
4. Push the bottle into the device until it clicks
5. Flip the device upside down and wait 5 minutes to prime the coil (you’ll see bubbles rising as e-liquid flows in)
6. Once bubbles stop, flip it back and wait 30 seconds
7. Inhale through the mouthpiece to start vaping – no buttons, it fires when you draw
8. The refill container automatically feeds the pod as you vape
9. When pod and container are empty, swap in fresh Elf Bar AF5500 refill pods
10. Recharge using USB-C cable when needed (cable not included)

The see-through design shows e-liquid levels in both pod and container, so you know when you’re running low and need to order Elf Bar AF5500 replacement pods.

TPD Compliant and Ban-Proof (Why the AF5000 Was Discontinued)

The Elf Bar AF5500 is fully TPD compliant and completely legal after the June 2025 disposable ban. The 2ml pod meets legal limits while the separate 10ml refill container gives you extended capacity legally. The difference from the banned Elf Bar AF5000 is simple – the Elf Bar AF5500 uses replaceable pods rather than being entirely single-use.When the UK banned disposable vapes in June 2025, the Elf Bar AF5000 got discontinued because the entire device was single-use. The Elf Bar AF5500 stayed legal because you kept the device and battery, only replacing pods and containers. Same Elf Bar experience, same flavours, same satisfaction – just compliant with UK law.If you’ve been searching for the Elf Bar AF5000, the AF5500 is what you need now. All the same flavours, same QUAQ mesh coils, same 20mg nic salt strength – just legal and rechargeable.
